About Luis Fernando Villegas

"It is so rare in these modern times to find a true classical horseman, who can read & understand a horse so very well as to give a nervous horse great confidence; or a horse that has soured with its work, to begin enjoying its work again while going to new heights. This is Luis Fernando Villegas!"

This event gives a very special opportunity to spend a weekend with reknowned Classical Equestrian Trainer and Instructor Luis Fernando Villegas! Sr. Villegas is one of the few contemporary torch bearers of the traditional European School of Classical Riding and Horsemanship.

He is the director of his own Equestrian academy in Mexico City, "Escuadra Marengo" (www.grupomarengo.com), where he trains and teaches. He publishes and edits a monthly horse & equestrian magazine OH! La Guia Ecuestre, and hosts a weekly radio show in Mexico City focusing on horsemanship and equestrian topics.

Sr. Villegas has won numerous championships at the Mexican Metropolitan and National Classic Andalusian Horse Shows and PRE Festival Championship and received the gold medal at the American Spanish Horse Show in Latin America.

But his proudest accomplishment to date is being admitted, as no other Mexican rider before, on a scholarship to the Real Escuela Andaluza del Arte Ecuestre for their Advanced Officer Training Course. Currently in training himself with Berna Pujais, ranked one of the top dressage riders in the world, LFV will be here in So Cal for this special weekend of horsemanship, instruction, theory, and philosophy.
