We are pleased to announce The Foundation has begun its library for the P.R.E. Horse Museum. These wonderful books will be available to scholars or P.R.E. aficionados by visiting the Albuquerque, New Mexico office of The Foundation. The collection includes those books which are currently in The Foundation's library along with the addition of our recent gift of 30 P.R.E. horse books owned by Vaughan Smith from the family of Vaughan. About the P.R.E.Many books have been written on the culture surounding the Pure Spanish Horse. The list below is in the Foundation's current collection and are highly recommended. Las Mejores Ganaderias del Mundo Pura Raza Española. Volumes I and II. Published by Caballos Campeones, S.L., Barcelona, Spain. Translation by Hilda Nelson and published by J A Allen & Co Ltd, London. Exquisite drawings showing each step of high school, "haute ecole". Pluvinel wrote about the classical beauty of man and horse: based on harmony, order, and moderation. Also includes a glossary. (3) The Royal Horse and Rider: Painting, Sculpture and Horsemanship 1500-1800. By Walter Liedtke. The author surveys international tendencies in the history of art and at the same time considers special questions, such as precisely what a horse is doing and why it is iportant to the meaning of a particular painting or sculpture.
