PRE Mundial Registry Services - Audio Quick Guide The P.R.E. Mundial Registry is an Independent P.R.E. Registry maintained by the PREA division of The Foundation for the Pure Spanish Horse Association. The P.R.E. Mundial Registry was formed February of 2008 in response to a need for Efficient and Accurate Registry Services for P.R.E. Owners and Breeders. Please Read below for procedures to request specific P.R.E. Mundial Registry services. Check back often to see the latest information, as we update regularly. Downloadable forms required to apply for services are available on this page. ALWAYS retain copies of any documentation submitted for your own records. Submit all required forms and payment to: PREA, 4001 Juan Tabo N.E., Ste D, Albuquerque, NM 87111 or by fax to 505-294-081
Breeders Code Only apply for a breeder's code if you do not already have one. If you are just beginning, the first thing you need to do is get a breeder's code. Cria Caballar and ANCCE breeder's codes are honored. Submit the following to The Foundation/PREA: 1. Completed Breeder's Code Application
2. Completed Initial Farm Report
3. Copies of bills of sale with horse description and signatures of seller and buyer for all horses listed on the Initial Farm Report (not required for horses bred on your farm),
4. Applicable fee (members $30, non members $60).
Duplicate Carta You may apply for a duplicate carta if you already have a Spanish carta/passport for your horse issued by either Cria Caballar or ANCCE. Submit the following to The Foundation/PREA: 1. Completed Application for Service
2. Copy of CRIA or ANCCE carta
3. Copy of DNA results from UC Davis
4. Proof of ownership
5. Applicable fee (members $175, non members $350). A transfer of ownership, if applicable, will automatically be effected upon issuance of a duplicate carta for no additional cost.
Suffix Registration You may register your farm suffix for exclusive use on the names of the horses you breed. Each suffix will be registered only once. To request suffix registration submit the following to The Foundation/PREA: Inscription Please Note: Beginning in 2010, for improvement in the dependability and reliability of the P.R.E. Mundial Registry, we will require all horses inscribing into the P.R.E. Mundial Registry to have DNA records on file in the UC Davis Veterinary Genetics Lab. This change will facilitate the ability to do parent verification with ease for all future inscriptions. We also encourage all P.R.E. owners who have not previously submitted DNA results information to the P.R.E. Mundial Registry to consider doing so now so that our records may be as comprehensive and reliable as possible. It’s easy to request a Carta Mundial from the P.R.E. Mundial Registry! 4) Adhesive horse markings sticker completed by the person who completes the preinscription form. The sticker will be placed by PREA office staff into the final Carta Mundial document. If you do not submit a horse markings sticker with your preinscription document there is an additional fee of $15 for the PREA office staff to hand copy the markings from the preinscription form to the Carta Mundial. When submitting the markings sticker, do not put it on the preinscription form, just send it to the office with the preinscription form. Packets of 5 stickers can be purchased from the PREA office for $5 (members) or $10 (non-members). 7) Applicable fee (see registry pricing link) *If your horse is an IALHA registered (S) horse, your complete IALHA registration papers can substitute for the breeding and birth certificate and proof of ownership and DNA/pv.
Transfer of Ownership Submit the following the The Foundation/PREA 1. Application for Service form requesting transfer of ownership
2.Your P.R.E. Mundial Carta
3. Copy of bill of sale or transfer of ownership showing horse description and signature of seller and owner
4. Applicable fee (within 60 days of purchase: members $35, non members $70 -more than 60 days after purchase: members $100, non members $200). Transfers of Ownership can be effected only into a P.R.E. Mundial Carta. Carta Mundial will be returned via certified mail with the transfer of ownership inside on the successive owners pages.
Breeding/ Birth Certifcates Stallion owners should download a breeding certificate prior to any breeding of their stallion. The breeding certificate form must be completed at the time of breeding and signed by both stallion and mare owner. The stallion owner then makes and keeps a copy for themself as a permanent record of the breeding and gives the original to the mare owner to keep until the foal is born. Once the foal is born, the birth certificate/pre-inscription form must be completed for registry of the foal into the P.R.E. Mundial registry (see instructions above for 'Inscription').
Revision -Assesment of your horse for Breeding Quality Note: Revision is scheduled periodically during the year. Check the homepage calendar for upcoming revisions and paperwork deadlines. Before you present a horse for P.R.E. Mundial revision you must have a breeder's code and your horse must be at least three years old and inscribed in the P.R.E. Mundial registry. P.R.E. Mundial revision results can only be recorded into a P.R.E. Carta Mundial (CM). A CM must be produced for a horse being presented for P.R.E. Mundial revision if one does not yet exist. Minimum height requirements for revision are: Mares -1.5 meters (14.3 hands); Stallions-1.52 meters (15.0 hands). If you meet these prerequisites, submit the following to The Foundation/PREA prior to the published deadline for the revision you wish to participate in: 1. Completed application for service
2. Fees (members $295/horse if horse already has CM, $395/horse if CM is produced simultaneously; non members $590/horse if horse already has CM, $790w/ simultaneous CM)
3. Proof of ownership
4. If the horse has a Spanish Stud Book Carta, a copy of horse's carta (both sides of the green carta)
We recomend that you update Adobe Reader berfore downloading forms. All forms except for the Mundial Application for Service are in PDF format. The Application for Service is a Word document which can be electronically completed and saved or printed and completed by hand.
